Emergency Preparedness: organize and plan ahead
Date: November 16th, 2009
Time: 7:00pm
Information: Emergency Preparedness
There’s no time like the present to organize, prepare and plan for emergencies or potential disasters. Diane Thomson of Creative Organizing, LLC will demonstrate how preparedness goes beyond smoke detectors and extra food in the pantry. Instead, “being ready” will be defined as taking the time to;
• prepare an emergency supply kit
• make a family emergency plan
• take steps to protect your home
• organize essential and important documents
• be informed about emergencies and their appropriate responses
National Preparedness Month (NPM) celebrated its 6th year this past September. The aim of NPM is to challenge people’s belief that they are adequately prepared or can improvise in a disaster or emergency and recast their responsibility/role in a new light, reminding them that they are “their own first responder.” (www.ready.gov)
Ask yourself…”Are you ready or are you Ready”
Monday, November 16 at 7 pm in Memorial Hall
