WHAT IS PlLATES?
Pilates is a strength exercise technique begun by Joseph Pilates over seventy years ago. Mr. Pilates. discovered through mat exercises and a series of machines how to strengthen the core torso muscles or as he called it the 'Power House'. This strength training builds longer stronger muscles rather than bulk.

About Meridith
Meridith Johnson, was a professional dancer for over 15 years which is where she first learned about the Pilates technique. As an American Council on Exercise, certified Instructor and Personal Trainer she again became interested in the technique. She has been studying for over 11 years, with Pitates certified instructor Amy McDowell in Franklin Lakes, at TRIBECA BODYWORKS, in New York City, and is currently mat certified by POWER PILATE'S also in New York City.

About Kendra
Kendra Thyne holds a BFA in Ballet from the University of the Arts and danced professionally for several years with Oakland Ballet and Winifred R. Harris' Between lines in Los Angeles. She began studying Pilates in 1990 with such Master teachers as Elizabeth Larkham and Michele Larsson. She received her Pilates certification in 1996 with Marie-Jose Blom-Lawrence at Long Beach Dance Conditioning. Most recently, Kendra has been teaching Pilates in Hoboken, NJ. She furthers her education by attending workshops on both coasts.

About Beth
Beth Mastin 10 year study of movement began formally at Lorretta Heights Cllege in Denver, CO. and culminated with The Denver Civic Ballet. Classical Pilates Certification and 600 apprenticeship hours received through Power Pilates, NYC. Post Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist through "The Pink Ribbon Program". This is a post operative workout enhancing recovery for the Breast Cancer Patient. Pilates provided a gateway to a "Return to Life" for me after a long hiatus. The power of the method is great and has inspired me to teach. "Movement Heals". Last but not least Self-Knowledge practiced through the teachings of Prem Rawat for 35 years. An inner journey of self discovery and fulfillment.

The, FITNESS LOFT is located in, THE MILL, 697 Valley Street 2nd FL. in Maplewood, NJ. We are just off of Millburn Ave. on the corner of Pierson Rd. Parking is in the rear of the building. Click here for more details.

Price List
All sessions are an hour in length.
Single Session: $65
Ten Sessions: $600

Monday at 6 pm & 8 pm
Wednesday at 9 am
$20 per class - space limited

Kendra's sessions:
M W F: 6 am and 7am
Private clients; T Th: 6:30am
Group Mat Classes; W 8:30 pm
