I still drive an hour to get my fresh raviolis at DiPietros. I miss living in Maplewood. I lived on Courter Avenue. Julie Gravette (Rupprecht) - June 26th, 2008 at 11:48am what a town to grow up in!! i lived in maplewood from the time i was 6 months old till i graduated columbia high school in 1971. maplewood was such a great town to live in. close to the city, but still with a small town feel. i don't live too far from there now, and i do still go back from time to time. even used to take my kids trick or treating in my old neighborhood. i'm glad to see it hasn't changed all that much. My son Richard loves it here. From Tuscan to South Orange Middle to Columbia High School. He has made so many friends here he is almost a Maplewood icon now...Richard Beavers! It is very convenient to shopping, NYC and surrounding food and entertainment as well as the foot hills!! We just love it here. Sherri & Richard Beavers - February 19th, 2008 at 10:31am Just saying HI I come to MOL to find about how Maplewood has changed. So far I can see it hasn’t from when I grew up in Maplewood in the 50’s and 60’s I graduated CHS in 64 and lived on Concord Ave, but for current Maplewood residents it seems like nothing has changed since I lived in Maplewood. I like knowing that the Town I grew up in hasn’t changed its values. Your taxes might be high, but your quality of living seems the same as when I grew up there in 50’s and 60’s. So maybe a nice trade off in being able to raise your children in a Town you can be sure their raised right. I hope Maplewood neighbors look after each other and their children like in my time. It seems so from what I can gather from coming to MOL For information about where I grew up. Jim Moran - January 9th, 2008 at 04:45pm |
