I always found her to be way overrated as an artist.  But art is totally subjective....

John Lennon and Yoko Ono were never favorites of mine either. I'm glad for you Mr.T that Yoko is still healthy. Please don't shoot the messenger, I didn't even know she was sick.

Let's face it.  If the best that people can come up with is Frank Kelly, there's just been a dearth of deaths recently.  You would expect otherwise in the midst of flu season.

Just heard on the radio that George Kennedy (actor, "Cool Hand Luke") has passed away. I think I heard them say he was 91 years old.

He was 91? Wow. He was obviously great in Cool Hand Luke but he played opposite Clint Eastwood in "The Eiger Sanction." Always a fave of mine.

And yet people like Mugabe seem to keep on keeping on... 93 and still partying away while his country suffers.

RIP Aubrey McClendon, 56, fracking entrepreneur, who pioneered low cost fracking of gas throughout the US in the last 10 years; one day after being indicted by the feds for price fixing oil and gas contracts.  He drove his car at high speed off the highway and into a bridge, dying instantly.

Bud Collins died today. He was the American voice of tennis both on TV and in print for decades. When he started as a sportswriter, he covered other sports. Later in his life, he'd occasionally be interviewed about covering Muhammad Ali or some other non-tennis star. He was just as eloquent as he was about tennis, but it seemed off, like a clergy member in another denomination's place of worship.

The sad thing about Dyson was that he was alone, and undiscovered for some time (days). Too young, at 66.

Nancy Reagan died.

Well, I've met his late mother. Dame Elisabeth was a lovely lady with a very kind heart, a generous attitude and beautiful garden (she believed in supporting and empowering young people with few resources). 

He just makes me shudder and cringe. Has for decades.

I met Rupe at a party once, many years ago. My ex-wife worked for his son James at NewsCorp and James had a holiday party for his staff and their significant others.  It was in a  gorgeous ground-level apartment on Greene or Mercer St in Soho. We were introduced. I had just started a consulting practice and figured, here's the ultimate client, huh?  But, I didn't approach him about it. I was too high and he was too grumpy looking. 

Food was good. Drinks better.
