Clivia miniata from the Lenny Zieff collection

Did you know Lenny, the long time owner of Victor's Florist in South Orange?  His health went downhill last year, he entered a nursing home over the winter and passed away in August 2025.

His plant collection (3 greenhouses at his house!) was dispersed last year, with proceeds going towards his care.  The orchids were largely distributed before the heat was turned off.  Since nobody else was interested in his Clivia miniata, I rescued as many as I could fit into my van.  Most of these plants were very overgrown, so from the 15-18 plants I took, I now have about 75+ divisions.

• If anybody in MSO is interested in adopting one of these plants (blooming size, standard color = Orange with yellow throat), I shall be happy to supply for free (I will attend the Porch Fest on September 6th).
• There were also a few with yellow flowers.  I pollinated his 'Kruger Rand strain' with one of his 'Golden Dragon strain' in 2025, so I have a good quantity of small seedlings now (about 4 years from BS).  For those I ask only a nominal donation of $5.00
