The Men of Soul at the Gazebo in park on Springfield Ave. tonight

There’s an English band I like called GIRL RAY. The first time I saw them live, at The Sultan’s Room in Bushwick, I came out and said “there’s still magic to be made with 3 guitars and a drummer.”

This was a big outfit. 3 singers, 2 horns, keyboards, drums, guitar and bass.  I don't know how these small venue artists make any money.  Even when there is a charge, the ticket prices at the places I go to, including SOPAC, are low.  We rarely see anything that is above double digits in price.   Being in the arts is tough.   There's just a surplus of talent.  A buyers' market.
