A family in Warren is seeking a nanny to provide patient, loving care for their 2, 4, and 7-year-old children. The job is 40-45 hours per week, but the schedule is flexible. Nanny will cover either the morning shift (6:30 am to 1:30 pm) or the afternoon shift (1:30 to 8:30 pm) and will need to work as a team with Mom and the au pair to coordinate the schedule.


Duties:
Maintaining the daily schedule and routines that are in place. Shopping for groceries and preparing healthy meals for the children. Planning activities that are engaging and developmentally appropriate. Doing the children’s laundry. Vacuuming the children’s areas. Doing UPS returns as needed. Keeping the children safe at all times.


Ideal nanny:
Given the children's high activity levels and unique personalities, the ideal nanny for this family has experience creating a safe, engaging, and active environment for children. Looking for someone who can de-escalate situations in a confident, patient, and nurturing way. The ideal nanny will take initiative but will also be able to collaborate effectively with Mom, the children, and other household staff. Looking for someone who is intelligent, flexible, and will prioritize the family’s needs. Finally, this family hopes to find a caregiver who is able to create a bond with the children, especially the middle child, who is currently challenging Mom with unwanted behaviors.


About the children:
This 2-year-old toddler is playful, energetic, and bright. She enjoys art and gymnastics and will be in daycare for most of the day. This 4-year-old, although energetic, is calmer and more reserved than his siblings. He is very sweet and tends to be shy at first. Mom is currently managing his day-to-day details while they sort out some behaviors. The oldest child is 7 and is expressive, confident, energetic, and charismatic. He attends emotional regulation classes to help with his ADHD. Possible after-school activities are sports, therapy, and Italian class.


About the home/parents:
Mom is a well-organized, friendly, and supportive person who appreciates order. She has established a positive and communicative household. She maintains high standards for her children and prioritizes healthy eating. Dad is laid back but, unfortunately, travels frequently. Because the members of this household work as a team, Nanny will never be alone with all three children


Benefits:

Flexible scheduling options are available, provided that coverage is maintained by the other caregiver when necessary.
